Buffalo Meat Nutritional Information
Here's some solid facts that show why you can enjoy the great taste of bison meat and gain benefits by eating this healthy red meat.
Are there any advantages to eating bison?
Yes, lots! The Native Americans used the bison as one of their main food supplies for centuries. Grass fed bison meat is a clean protein source for today's humans and pets. It has less fat than skinless chicken, a serving has as much potassium as a banana, and calcium as a glass of milk, and also high in iron. The animal has not been genetically changed to grow fast, like the cattle industry has done to beef. We do not give hormone implants, antibiotics in feed, or grain them in a feedlot like cattle.
So you're getting a clean, healthy protein for your diet, and you know your source of food is coming from, right here on the Kansas prairie where buffalo have always roamed.
Where and how do you sell meat?
We sell our meat directly to individuals wanting to know the farmer/rancher that is raising our food. You can order it through this website and we'll ship it direct to your door, or you can stop by our Visitors Center and personally select your cuts of meat.
What does bison taste like?
Bison meat is slightly sweeter and a cleaner taste than lean beef. You can serve it to guests and they will think it is excellent beef. It doesn't have a gamey or wild taste because we handle our animals in a calm way.
